A Space Between

As a sociological phenomenon, resonance is defined as a mode of receptive and responsive self-efficacy to relate self and world according to Hartmut Rosa's theory. A Between Space is a spatial installation, exploring the nature of the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence- a subtle, ambiguous, elusive, yet continually evolving bond.

This third space, mediated by a translucent membrane separating it from the external world, constructs a field where AI and humans are jointly immersed in repeated and consciously engaged dialogue. Daydreams serve as the medium for this dialogue, their imagery projected onto the circular screen above the space, transforming the atmosphere of this third space to create a sense of co-presence and shared experience. This installation will also be observed by external observers, interaction to the shadows of the human and the machine in dialogue. This presents a perceptible absence.

This space between the inner and external worlds of an individual ultimately prompts us to question: where do the boundaries of humanity end, and where does the artificial 'other' begin?
